A PEACEFUL GOODBYE
Saying goodbye to a beloved pet is one of the most difficult moments we face in their lives. Just as the sunset marks the beautiful closure to the day, an in-home euthanasia gifts your pet a beautiful and peaceful passing at the end of their journey. Paws in the Sunset will ensure that your pet’s final moments will be spent in the place they feel most comfortable, and most loved.
Hi, I'm Brittney Carpenter, DVM
My path to becoming a veterinarian began as a child—it was the only thing I ever imagined being “when I grew up”. I was born and raised here in the Tucson desert, graduated from the University of Arizona in 2006 (Bear Down!), and earned my veterinary degree from Washington State University in 2010 (Go COUGS!). Immediately after graduating, I returned home to Tucson, where I have practiced small animal general medicine ever since.
Alongside my career, my husband and I have grown our family with two wonderful children and of course a handful of pets- Zuma (a boxer mix), Hazel (my Pomsky puppy), and Kona (cat). Like many pet owners, I have also experienced the heartbreak of saying goodbye to my own pets over the years, and each one holds a very special memory in my heart.
After more than 15 years in clinical practice, I felt called to expand the way I support pets and their families. While I continue to practice medicine and surgery at Oracle 77 Pet Clinic, I created Paws in the Sunset to offer families the option of saying goodbye in the comfort of their own home, instead of at the clinic. I believe helping a pet pass peacefully is one of the greatest gifts of this profession, and my hope is to provide a final moment filled with tranquility, dignity, and love—in the place they know best.

What we have once enjoyed, we can never lose;
all that we have loved deeply, becomes a part of us.
